ABOUT
Here at SRAS for assistive technologies, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. Our decision-making process is informed by comprehensive empirical studies and high-quality engineering analysis. Our team formed in January 2020 in Cocreate fellowship. During the fellowship, we participated for a full year in developing assistive aid for wheelchairs to climb curbs. Since that, we strive to build effective technologies and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits for motor disable communities.
OUR PROJECTS
Recognizing the enormity of the challenges motor disability communities face, SRAS is dedicated to making a lasting impact through our projects. While our efforts are driven by our team's singular focus on motor disability, we are thinking creatively to avail these aids to used for a wide range of purposes.
CURBS CLIMBER
Mechanical aid for manual wheelchairs for climbing curb with a minimum power.
Ideation and innovation
SUHAYB ALSAWADI
A mechanical engineer who is working as R&D Engineer at one of KAUST’s startups, and has special interest in the robotics field and social work. He thinks Co-creATe is the right place for combining the two interests by developing robotic solutions for people in need. He is a Qimam fellow which is a fellowship that identifies the best students across Saudi and extremely competitive. During his bachelor year he did found and lead different student associations and clubs, won many competitions, participated at hackathons and challenges, attended different training programs and had worked for different companies. Suhayb volunteered tutoring other students both in-person and via his youtube channel. In addition, he volunteeringly translates STEM related content into Arabic with TED and other organizations.
